How do you usually get to work? How long have you been using this commute option?
I take two buses to get to work, the 48 and the 212. I’ve been doing this for about 10 months [in October 2018].
How far is your commute? How long does it take you each way?
The distance between my house and campus is about 4 miles. It takes me about 30 minutes to get to work in the morning. It’s also roughly the same amount of time to get home.
What made you decide to commute this way?
I have a visual impairment so I don’t drive.
What do you enjoy about your commute?
I can do other things like relax, read a book or play a game on my iPhone. I also like that it’s reasonably priced.
Do you think you save money by commuting this way?
My only other option is to Uber or take a taxi and it is definitely cheaper than doing that. So I would say yes.
How does your Pierce College help accommodate your commute option?
Pierce College doesn’t offer a bus pass but they do give me $30 if I take the bus a certain number of days a month.
What would you say to your fellow employees to inspire them to try using a commute option other than driving alone in their car?
It may take a little more time but you can potentially save some money.
