Where do you work and what is your role at the company?
I’m a referral coordinator for CHI Franciscan.
How do you get to work?
I live in South King County, so I take a combination of Metro Transit and Pierce Transit busses. I started riding Pierce Transit eight or nine years ago when I worked at another CHI Franciscan clinic in Pierce County.
How long is your commute?
The morning commute takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes. The afternoon ride home takes longer.
Why did you start taking the bus?
I don’t have a car, so I take the bus to work, to shopping … everywhere I need to go. I also get partial reimbursement for the cost through our Work Trip Reduction program at work.
What do you like about using public transit?
It’s nice to leave the driving to someone else. I also enjoy the quiet of the morning ride. One of the morning drivers is really cheerful and often dresses in a festive way to celebrate different holidays. It’s a nice way to start the day.
